There are a number of public footpaths around and just outside the village. Some can be seen on the drive in from Scotch Corner along the road into Moulton. Once you are into the Village, just opposite the telephone box you will find a public footpath through the grounds of The Granary.  Firstly you will arrive at a Stile, the walk takes you across the fields which at times can get muddy in bad weather, and they also may hold livestock. If you have a dog, please make sure it is kept on a lead if livestock are in the field. The walk will take you to the next village Middleton Tyas which has a pub The Shoulder of Mutton.

You will find a number of public footpaths in and around the outskirts of the village. There are at least two or three on Scurragh Lane between Scotch Corner Services and Moulton Village which can be seen from the road. As you drive into Middleton Tyas, there is a public footpath on the left just before the sharp left bend . Opposite that bend is a track that leads to the Church in Middleton Tyas. Many people walk their dogs over the fields there. Sometimes farmers place livestock in the fields, so always be aware if you have your dog with you, to keep it on a lead.

Scorton is the next village along from Moulton and has a lovely nature reserve and a great walk around the lake. Approximately 2.8 miles away. Its a lovely gentle walk where you will see wildlife and a variety of birds. Also nearby is what used to be the World war 11 airfield. Commemorated on a plaque near the lake. if you have a dog it must be kept on a lead.
